With Rabobank, the Dutch payments company iDeal is testing a tool that streamlines online shopping.

It will be possible for users of Rabo-Labs, Rabobank's online community, to create an iDeal profile for usage at participating retailers. Their payment details will be kept in the profile, saving you time entering the same information over and over.

The trial will continue until April, at which point customers of all participating banks will be able to access the iDeal profile.

The chief product officer of iDeal, Amos Kater, states: "The redesigned iDeal primarily improves the convenience of online payments. It also guarantees a high level of privacy, which is especially advantageous for smaller online retailers."

The European Payments Initiative, a bank-backed initiative that was first established to create a competitor to Mastercard and Visa in Europe, purchased iDeal last year.
