To support Norwegian merchants, SoftPay Tap-to-Phone Solution is the first to accept BankAxept.

In order to guarantee quick and safe transactions for both customers and businesses, Softpay, the tap-to-phone solution, has become the first company of its kind to accept BankAxept, the top card scheme in Norway, as part of its advanced payment solutions.

During the test phase, the integration of Softpay technology with BankAxept's payment system proved to be highly beneficial thanks to agreements with Plantasjen, Kristiansand Dyrepark, among others.

BankAxept's well recognized and affordable payment method has made it possible for a substantial percentage of in-store transactions, which has led to its rise in importance within the Norwegian economy. By integrating with Softpay, merchants in Norway can provide their customers quick, safe, and flexible payment alternatives, improving their overall customer experience.

In order to increase mobility and lower transaction costs, Softpay enables merchants to accept BankAxept cards in-store, at pop-up locations, or during deliveries using an Android device. Softpay is currently utilized with success by both large and international retailers of apparel, cosmetics, and sports goods as well as small businesses like neighborhood eateries and hair salons.

According to Halvor Kaafjeld, head of Softpay in Norway, "it is evident that the trend is towards merchants going for more software-based solutions where they no longer need the physical payment terminal, even though we will probably see the traditional payment terminal in the market for quite some time to come."

Softpay is already linked with a large number of cash register systems in Norway, making it simple for users to begin using both the cash register and payment apps on the same device.
