With only a few clicks, merchants may now access a multitude of third-party payment service providers, such as Stripe, Adyen, WorldPay, and Airwallex, thanks to SAP's introduction of an open payments platform.

Retailers can choose payment partners based on their specific requirements and global markets using the SAP Commerce Cloud, allowing them to grow at their own speed and not be restricted to a single supplier.

Because the framework is headless and expandable, it can be used to introduce new features like buy now, pay later and support a broad range of channel requirements by ensuring that the front end and back end are separated and function independently.

According to Sven Denecken, Senior Vice President and Global Head of Product Marketing for SAP Industries & CX, SAP's distinctive approach to composability prioritizes the digital commerce requirements of retailers. This approach involves collaborating closely with them to oversee their digital transformation, chart pathways to sustainable growth, and meet industry standards.

The end-to-end payment procedures, including authorization, capture, refunds, and re-authorization, are covered by the low-code, no-code framework. It also features automatic upgrades with security and compliance standards.

SAP clients can sign up to participate in the payment framework's current beta program. It is anticipated to become widely accessible in H2 2024.
