According to Reuters, Apple has come under fire from Russia's antitrust watchdog, which claims that the US company has taken out banking and payment apps from its App Store.
According to Reuters, the Federal Antimonopoly Service wrote to Apple expressing its concerns about the limitations, which prevent Russian banks from providing services.
Users can't install apps from outside the App Store, in addition to the majority of Russian banks being taken off of the store.
The government is requesting a "detailed, motivated position on this issue" and claims that Apple is exhibiting "signs of violation of antimonopoly legislation."
The United States launched a complaint against Apple last month, alleging the company had monopolized the smartphone industry through a number of practices, such as preventing third-party apps from facilitating contactless payments.
The business took action earlier this year to protect itself from antitrust charges brought by the European Commission by granting access to the NFC chip technology found in iOS devices to other vendors.
