$50 million was raised by Colombian payments startup Bold in a Series C financing round headed by General Atlantic.

The round was attended by International Finance Corporation, InQLab, and Amador. It follows a $55 million Series B that took place two years prior.

Bold was established in 2019 and offers affordable terminals that let small companies take payments with and without cards.

The firm, which aims to democratize Colombia's digital economy and promote financial inclusion, boasts more than 150,000 active merchants each month.

Bold's CEO, José Velez, states: "We are still empowering small businesses in Colombia by removing obstacles to payment. Thousands of retailers may now concentrate on the expansion and profitability of their companies as they have access to digital financial services."
