Tua Assicurazioni S.p.A. has been acquired by Allianz S.p.A. for a total of €280 million.

By completing this acquisition from Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A., Allianz hopes to increase its competitive advantage and strengthen its position in the Italian property and casualty (P/C) insurance market.

Allianz S.p.A. expects to see a 1% gain in its P/C market share in Italy following the completion of the purchase.

With gross written premiums of about €280m in 2022, the Italian insurance carrier has a successful portfolio of property and casualty (P/C) insurance.

Tua Assicurazioni, which operates through a distribution network with around 500 agents, is committed to providing its clients with customized insurance solutions and outstanding service.

The company's focus on distribution excellence and customer centricity fits in perfectly with Allianz's strategic goals, guaranteeing a smooth transition for customers, staff, and agents.

The fact that this deal has received all necessary regulatory clearances shows how committed Allianz is to solidifying its position as a major participant in the Italian insurance industry.

It was reported earlier this year that the troubled French InsurTech Luko was about to be acquired by Allianz Direct, a division of the German insurance behemoth Allianz, for an estimated €5 million.

According to a Sifted story, Luko has finally found a buyer in Allianz Direct, after months of legal fights. The move will come after this.

Luko, who was once a rising star in the French tech industry, filed for bankruptcy in June of last year despite raising $75 million from well-known investors like Accel and Speedinvest.

Due to the company's financial difficulties, a €14 million agreement with FTSE 100 insurance behemoth Admiral fell through, forcing Allianz Direct to intervene. The agreement, which is pending approval by the French commercial court, intends to keep Luko's 112 employees while saving the company from bankruptcy.
