With the goal of addressing caregiver fatigue in the workplace, Yurtle, an InsurTech company based in London, has closed a £1.37 million seed fundraising round.

Insurtech Gateway and Mustard Seed Maze co-led the round, demonstrating the rising confidence of investors in the company's purpose.

The funding will support Yurtle's growth objectives by allowing it to hire more staff members and launch the first digital care ally in history.

The Yurty solution seeks to combat workplace caregiver fatigue by offering hyper-personalized, scalable, and reasonably priced help.

Employees can evaluate their caregiving tasks with the help of the Yurtle app. This is a chore that caregivers frequently overlook in favor of attending to their family members' needs. The software helps users make the most of their current support networks to divide up caregiving responsibilities and provides tailored suggestions to improve the efficacy of caregiving.

Employer-funded, this B2B solution helps reduce caregiver stress by helping caregivers build strong care teams and offers a safety net of funds in case their health deteriorates.

Furthermore, Yurtle offers a cutting-edge insurance plan created to provide workers peace of mind. This product guarantees access to funds and backup care providers in the case of illness or accident that prevents them from performing their regular caregiving function, guaranteeing continuity of care for dependents.

"Caregiving is the single largest driver of underrepresentation of women in senior leadership, behind gender pension and pay gaps, and behind the lower participation of women in paid work," stated Richard Chattock, CEO of Insurtech Gateway. Yurtle's product addresses this discrepancy head-on by giving caregivers the financial stability and support from the community they need to manage their own health and careers while delivering excellent care to loved ones. As Yurtle grows its product throughout the UK and beyond, we are pleased to sponsor them.

The world's population is aging, which emphasizes how urgently we need solutions like Yurtle.

12,000 people are forced into caregiving jobs every day in the UK alone, which has serious personal and financial repercussions. Caregivers frequently struggle to strike a balance between their professional obligations and caring for others, which can result in burnout and decreased productivity for employers.

"We believe there is no single systemic challenge more pressing or fascinating to solve for than our ageing population," said Antonio Ribeiro, founder of Yurtle. We are overjoyed to have obtained funds that will enable us to carry on developing the resources families require in order to fulfill their caregiving responsibilities for loved ones without compromising their health. With Jose Ribeiro's official appointment as Chairman of Yurtle, we genuinely believe that our objective is to provide for others with resources that we would like our own family to have in times of need.

"For MSM, addressing the challenge of a growing elderly population has always been an area of interest, considering the size of the problem and the impact potential," said Sofia Queiroz, Investment Principal at MSM. But the existence of a scalable business model in the space became evident to us only when we met Yurtle. This is made possible by a combination of a platform that addresses the non-financial (platform) and financial (insurance) concerns associated with caregiving, as well as a business model that divides accountability between employers and employees. With their backgrounds in business, insurance, behavioral science, and practical experience dealing with caregivers, António and the team he assembled around Yurtle are ideally suited to take on this challenge.

Since its founding in November 2020, Yurtle has been supported by the angel investing community; Fox Williams LLP is also a supporter of this round.
